One of my favorite weekend get-away destination is Providence, Rhode Island. Ditch the car. The Amtrak station is centrally located in this cosmopolitan city known for colleges, finance, law, and a lively art scene. From strolling Thayer Street and being out for “last call–one-dollar-a slice” pizza to walking the River Walk, the heart of Providence beats strong with vitality and artistic energy.
